Visual Technologies to Offer Innovative New Product for the Financial Services Industry

Article by Visual Technologies, Inc.

Hartford, CT, July 7, 2008 – Visual Technologies, Inc., a system integrator and independent provider of software and IT services, is proud to announce a new product offering, cEPS(TM)–a family of administrative systems developed for the financial services industry. cEPS(TM) is designed and built to support today’s complex financial services products, representing the next evolution for the industry.

Historically, financial services products were independently sold and administered, requiring consumers to use various vertical channels in order to purchase different product types. For instance, consumers used insurance agents to buy life and annuity products, and brokers to buy stocks, bonds and mutual funds. Today, the market requires that financial services products interoperate in order to better meet consumers’ needs. cEPS(TM) affords a solution by incorporating multiple financial services products. cEPS(TM) integrates life insurance, annuity, mutual fund, ETF, reverse mortgage, and other product processing components to create a combination product that can be sold and administered. While Unified Managed Accounts (UMAs) and Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs) have begun to address this issue, cEPS(TM) is truly unique in that it delivers the ability to include insurance components into the mix as well.

The cEPS(TM) Administrative Systems are built on Visual Technologies’ enterprise class, Microsoft certified infrastructure–CoDI(TM)–an innovative solution designed to enable IT systems to work together without major systems overhauls. Visual Technologies created CoDI(TM) to improve integration from multiple applications and databases. Using scalable and reusable components, CoDI(TM) is based on Visual Technologies’ “wrap-not-scrap” philosophy.

The cEPS(TM) Administrative Systems were developed as a result of coupling CoDI(TM) with our Service-oriented Architecture (SOA) approach. SOA strives to integrate functions and consolidate activity in one back-end system. For financial services companies that depend on efficiency and rapid product launches, Visual Technologies’ cEPS(TM) Administrative Systems solve the challenges of conventional software development. By isolating functions into discrete components, integrating systems at the appropriate level, breaking down informational barriers, and allowing for a dynamic infrastructure, cEPS(TM) and Visual Technologies enhance the business of any financial services company.
